9 mistakes you should avoid this Christmas
9 mistakes you should avoid this Christmas.
The Christmas season is usually filled with joy and excitement. Often times, the joy becomes cut short by unplanned incidents. A times the pain comes after the celebration.
Below are a few tips on the mistakes you shouldn't make.
1. Spending above your normal budget - while some companies are busy giving discount to customers, other take undue advantage of the high traffic to hike the price of their products. Therefore it is easy to spend above what your initial budget was.
The consequence of this is, running short of money for other expenses, considering your level of income.
Always remember that it's not a do or die affair.
Remember that you also have school fees, rent, etc to pay for next year.
2. Living in regret - As is common to many, you may not have been able to meet up with your years target/goals.
Now, you have learnt lessons,if there were and these lessons can help you do better in the next year.
If your goal was beyond your means, you did well to dream big,but still give yourself a pat on the back for having the gut to work. Some didn't step out. You did. Be glad about that.
Relationship goals, financial goals, adventure goals, vacation goals, etc may not have worked. But be thankful for the fact that you can try harder.
3. Running into debt to impress people - yes. If you can't afford to share your meal with neighbours be cheerful and go about your daily business. They should know that times are hard and if you had you'd do as usual.
4. Forgetting your little successes - often times when we have big dreams, we tend to forget the seemingly little successes we make. Stability is a great achievement. Remaining successful is Worth celebrating. Even if there was a decline in your success record, celebrate your sanity of mind and the will to lunch forward.
5. Forgetting to appreciate helpers - I'm glad I've done this and will still do more. God used several people to help me this year. I need not hesitate in showing gratitude to them.
6. Being carefree - if you were able to reach and exceed your goals, that's great. But be mindful of the fact that not all who smile with you are happy for you. Therefore, be careful how you honour invitations, where you go to and what you eat. Eat well at home to be able to excuse yourself from food poisoning. The days ate evil.
7. Showing off so soon - Some enemies need to remain blind, till your cross your red sea. Don't be eager to show off what's cooking, till the time is ripe.
8. Forgetting the less privileged - The good side of yours that feel the pain of others shouldn't be sidelined. Sharing a little of what you have with the needy brings a sense of fulfilment.
9. Being unthankful to GOD.
